语言学概论感悟Whydowestudylinguistics?Whenwestudyaparticularlanguage,wejuststudyitandactuallywearelimitedbythislanguage.Whilelinguisticscanhelpusstudylanguagesingeneral.Inotherwords,linguisticsisasystematicsubjectforstudentswhowanttolearnanykindoflanguagebetter.Justasmyteachersaid,linguisticsisnotonlyusefulbutalsohelpful.AfterIlearnedthesecondlanguage-French,IfoundbetweenEnglishandFrench,therehadsomethingincommon.However,languagelearningisstillmoredifficultthanwegetourmothertongue.Itmustbecausespeechisearlierthanwriting,forexamplelittlechildrenhearsoundorhumanvoicefirst,thentheylearnwrittenlanguagebecausewordsarejustsymbols.Therearethings,andthentherearethenamesofthings.JustasShakespearesaidarosebyanyothernamewouldsellassweet.Ifwewanttohaveagoodcommandofotherlanguage,weshouldnotonlyfocusononeortwopointsuchasgrammarorvocabulary.Weshouldkeepinmindlearnalanguageistolearnthewholethoughts.That’swhyweshouldstudylinguistics.Studentsalwayshaverareinterestsinlanguagelearningfortheydon’tfindaeffectivewaytostudyit.Whenwerecitewordsandtrytounderstandthecomplicatedgrammar,wemaybeboredandtired,that’sbecausewedonotknowlanguage’ssimilaritiesandgeneralizations.Ifwestudylinguistics,wecanhaveasystematicrecognition.Duringaperiodoftimeoflearning,Ifindthatlinguisticshasawidelyuseinlanguagelearning.Justlikewereadasentence,weshouldconsiderthelogicalmeaningofitbecauseweshallknowawordbythecompanyitkeeps,orwewillmakemistakes.Ifwelearnlinguistic,wecanbenefitalotinlanguagelearningandfindthebeautyofthelanguage.
