a class meeting.
meeting是名词,意为“会议,集会;会面”,作“聚会”
解时,多指出于偶然的机会,在某地与某人相遇。
meeting作“会议”解时,指任何有组织的、有领导的、公
开的或私下的各种集会,多在室内举行,目的是商讨议案、
作出决定等。
如:The meeting will deal with these problems.
Our meeting in Beijing was later than I
expected.
meeting用作主语,谓语动词多用单数形式。
meeting前常加介词at,表示“在会议上”;而
表示“在会议期间私下说话”则用介词in。
if作为连词,引导条件状语从句,表示“假如”、
“如果”等。引导条件状语从句最常用的连词是if,
表示在某条件下,某事很可能发生,主句不能用be
going to表示将来,而应该用shall,will。
如:If you leave now, you will never regret it.
如果你现在离开,你将绝不会后悔。
3. What will Mark organize?
organize是动词,意为“组织,筹备”,过去式是
organized,即组织某人或某事物,将某人或某事
物编入组织或系统,使之相互联系,且每一个体
在组织中都有其恰当的作用或职责,如:
I believe I have the ability to organize a party.
我相信我有能力组织一次社交聚会。
Don’t ask them to organize the trip. They’ll only screw
everything up.

organized还可作形容词,意为“有组织的,有条理的”,

Grammar Focus: if 条件句
if引导一个条件状语从句时,当主句是一般将来
时时, if引导的从句必须用现在时来
表示将来可能发生的动作或存在的状态。
在英语里, 当句子的主句为将来时态时, 它所引导的
时间状语从句和条件状语从句都使用一般现在时来
表示将来时间, 这在英语里被称为“主将从现”。
主句的将来时态并不仅限于我们这一课里所学习到
的will+动词原形构成的一般将来时, 还包括be
going to+动词原形、be doing所表示的一般将来时
以及我们以后会学到的其它的将来时态。例如:
► What is he going to do when he grows up?
他长大了想干什么?
► We are leaving for Xiamen tomorrow if it doesn’t rain.
如果明天不下雨, 我们就去厦门。
► We will buy that microwave next week if its price
keeps going down.
如果价格持续下降,下个礼拜我们就买那台微波炉。

有时,我们可以使用并列结构的祈使句来表达
if引导的条件句。如:
If you set your alarm clock, you won’t oversleep.
如果你上闹钟, 你就不会睡过头了。
Set your alarm clock, and you won’t oversleep.
► If you give him an inch, he will take a mile.
他会得寸进尺。
► Give him an inch, and he will take a mile.
► If you don’t give him some food, he will starve.
如果你不给他一点吃的, 他就会饿死。
► Give him some food, or/else he will starve.
2. 用法
(1)条件状语从句通常由连词if引导, 意为“如果、假如”, 主
句不能用be going to表示将来, 而应该用shall, will。
e.g. If you leave now, you are never going to regret it. (错误)
If you leave now, you will never regret it. (正确)
(2) if “如果”, 引导条件状语从句, 主句用一般将来时, 从句则
用一般现在时,如:
If it rains tomorrow, I shan’t climb the hills.
注意: 宾语从句中的if与条件状语从句if的区别。
宾语从句中的if“是否”相当于whether, 引导宾语从句,
时态需根据语境确定。
I don’t know if it will rain tomorrow.
我不知道明天是否会下雨。
在阅读英文文章时, 我们有可能看到这样的句子:
If my father will give me permission, I shall spend a few
months abroad.
如果我父亲同意, 我将在国外待几个月。
If you will take the trouble to read his letter carefully,
you will see what he means.
如果你肯花一些时间来认真读他的信,你就会明白他是
什么意思了。
在if-分句中用“will+动词原形”并不单纯表示将来意
义,这里的will是个表示“意愿”的情态动词, 相当于
be willing to(愿意)。
要注意这种带“will+动词原形”的if-分句在某些场合是
不可以随便用的, 比如我们可以说:
If he gets my letter in time, he’ll be able to change his plans.
如果他及时收到我的信, 他就能改变他的计划。
却不可以说成:
If he will get my letter in time, he’ll be able to change his
plans.

如果你愿意尝尝意大利食物, 你会喜欢它的。
If you would reserve the seats, we would be sure of a

1. be+doing形式: 用现在进行时态表达将来,主要意义是
表示按计划、安排即将发生的动作,常用于位置转移的动
词, 如go、come、leave、start、arrive等, 也可用于其它动
态动词。如:

总统这周将到联合国来。
We are moving to a different hotel the day after tomorrow.
我们后天将换一家宾馆。
在英语中, 有相当多的动态动词都可以用现在进行
时表示将来。例如:
Dinner is ready. We’re having fish for dinner.

I’m spending my holidays in Singapore this year.

advice意为“劝告;建议”是不可数名词,不能说an
advice, 而应说a piece of advice。“两个(则)建议”,
我们通常说two pieces of advice。注意piece要采用复
数,advice不可数,但piece可数。我们也可以说some

Laura Mills, a teenager from London, agrees. ”Problems

talking to someone helps a lot. Unless we talk to someone,

Laura once lost her wallet, and worried for days. She was

2. Problems and worries are normal life
worries是名词worry的复数形式,意为“令人忧伤的人或事”;
worry意为“烦恼,忧愁,忧虑”,指因遭遇困难或不如意的事而
苦闷,是不可数名词。如:

我的主要忧虑是他没有经验。
Her happiness at seeing him submerged her former worries.

worry作及物动词,意为“使担心”;做不及物动词,意
为“ 担心”。
worry about / over sth / sb意为“担心某事/某人”。如:
