My first memory of being 31 in photography was seeing a beautiful picture in a

Emojis, or emoticons, are picture-like characters which many people find necessary in their social
networking communications. They allow people to liven up their texts with hundreds of colourful
images. But do you often feel that there are still not enough emojis to express (表达) yourself very

Laura Ustick, manager of a fast-food restaurant in Illinois, US, said, “There are emojis for ice
cream, pizza and sushi, but not for the all-American hot dog.” That’s why he and other emoji fans

Other emoji fans are trying to get symbols like cupcakes and bacon, according to the newspaper.

emoji symbol. Emojis are largely controlled by the Unicode Consortium. It was founded by some
computer programmers in the 1980s.

A man has a friend going out of town for Thanksgiving and he accepts the job of watching his
parrot over the holiday. The trouble is, this parrot likes to swear (说脏话).

We are very pleased with the 2011-2012 autumn-semester student photo competition. The
third prize went to Aura Tanase, a student from the University of Vienna, for “Shooting on
Edinburgh”. The second prize went to Sara Nairn, a student from the University of Melbourne, for

Rory O’Chee, who is 14, loves taking photos, and has practised his skills by taking shots on
photo outings with his dad, Bill.
Rory enjoys “walking through a scene”, and takes his time with different types of shots.
“He knows what he is doing,” says Bill. He has great insight (悟性) and works things out for
himself.”
Bill has taken Rory to different places around Brisbane — including Roma Street Parklands, the
Story Bridge, Kurilpa Bridge and Newstead House — to take photos.
“It’s really satisfying and he enjoys it a lot,” says Bill.
