Seeing this action as a non-money award, smaller companies are following it by allowing dogs into the workplace. The benefits(益处) are sure to be seen: pets help reduce stress and may increase communication and socialization and there is plenty of research to show this good influence. About 60% of Americans own a pet. It’s not surprising therefore that it brings in a cultural change toward allowing free access(通路) for pets in spaces.
There has been a lot of research on the influence that pets have on children, the elderly, the sick, and prisoners. For example, pets may help the feeling development of children

by putting them in a situation where they learn how to care for others. Pets have been shown to help elderly Americans remain social and movable, and may reduce sadness in this population.
In another study, it was found that the appearance of a companion dog at work encouraged employees to be more cooperative, communicative, and friendly toward each other than in groups where there was no companion dog. This supports the opinion that pets may provide access to social conversation.
