After months of hard work, it's time to have fun during the summer holiday! If you are still planning what you are going to do during the days, why not enjoy a visit to a theme (主题) park?
Lots of theme parks have roller coasters (过山车). A roller coaster is anything that may appear dangerous while in fact, it's perfectly safe for family fun as long as you are over the height of 48 inches. If you like heart-stopping thrills, this "scream machine" is your best choice. For example, Kingda Ka is a steel roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in the United States. It is the world's tallest roller coaster, the world's second fastest roller coaster. Riding this roller coaster makes you feel like you are flying. One second you may be looking at the sky and the next you are looking straight down at the ground!
Does this sound scary (惊悚的) to you? If so, we will take you to other theme parks around the world. Ocean Park in Hong Kong is the first stop. You can walk through an underwater tunnel as sharks swim overhead or watch a dolphin swimming show. Besides, cable cars will carry you more than 200 metres to the top of the park.
Europa-Park is another good choice. If you think a few' days are not enough to travel through Europe, this theme park in Germany will show you what other European countries are like. Europa-Park has 12 country-themed areas. You can first ride French bobsleds (雪橇), then eat Greek sandwiches and then take a roller coaster based on the Russian space station—all in one day! Besides, Europa-Park is very real. The street lights in the Spanish part are from Spain and the small houses in the Swiss part come from Switzerland.
Our last stop is Universal's Islands in the US, a world-famous dinosaur theme park. If you are a fan of dinosaurs, it is just the place for you. You can have an unforgettable experience and see dinosaurs in their natural homes. But be careful! Escaping from the terrible mouth of a hungry dinosaur is a 26-metre drop into the darkest darkness!

Detective stories are among the most written, read and discussed stories in the world. They can be novels, animation and movies. When we start reading a detective story, we always wish to find out the truth before we reach the end. But it can be quite difficult to solve the problem as quickly as the detective does. ___75___ the following elements (元素) may help you find the truth.

Clue
Clues (线索) are the most important things in solving a crime. Clues can be very ____78____ things, such as hair, mud or a piece of paper from a diary. Clues don’t lead directly to the truth. Detectives use reasoning to find out what those clues truly mean, and _____79____ them together to find the truth.
Alibi

D. Answer the questions (根据短文内容回答下列问题) (12分,第88题1分,第89-92题每题2分,第93题3分)
An old carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer (雇主) of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more relaxing life with his wife and children. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They thought they could support themselves for the rest of their life.
The employer was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He turned to bad workmanship and used poor building materials.
It was an unlucky way to end his working life. When the carpenter finished his work and the employer came to see the house, he handed the front door key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said, "my gift to you."
What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.
So it is with us. We build our lives in a distracted (不专注的) way, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that, we would have done it differently.
It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived with dignity (尊严).
The sentence on the wall reads, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Who could say it more clearly? Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and choices you make today.
88. The old carpenter lived quite a rich life with his wife and children, didn't he?
89. Why did the old carpenter want to retire?
90. What did the old carpenter's employer ask him to do before he retired?
91. How did the carpenter do the job his employer asked him to do?
