It’s much better to eat a balanced diet.‎ M: But what do you think about people who are rather fat? What should they do to lose weight?‎ W: They need to eat healthy foods, but they also have to increase the amount of exercise they do ‎ every day. They don’t have to cut out fattening foods altogether, though.‎ M: But some magazines say fat people should never eat chocolate.‎ W: Not really, they can eat some chocolate as long as they are exercising and eating mostly healthy foods.‎ M: How about drinking soda?‎ W: Many people gain weight by drinking far too much soda, just as my sister does. But you can try some diet coke.‎ M: That’s good advice. How do you know so much about food and dieting?‎ W: You might not believe this, but I used to be twice the size than I am now!‎ Text 9‎ W: Hello, where are you heading today?‎ M: I’m off to Barcelona for a week.‎ W: Do you have your passport with you?‎ M: Yes, here you go. These are my ID card and photos.‎ W: They are not necessary for you to go to Spain. ‎ M: OK. Are there any seats available by the emergency exits? ‎ W: Yeah... let me see here. There is one window seat left but none by the emergency exits.‎ M: That’s a pity. Ok, I’ll take that one then.‎ W: All right. How many pieces of luggage do you check in?‎ M: I like to have travel light, so I just have this one. By the way, which gate do I need to go to?‎ M: You’re here a bit early. It’s only 10 o’clock. The plane will take off in about an hour. So you check the departure screens in the waiting area in about half an hour. Here is your boarding pass. Enjoy your flight!‎ Text 10‎ Edward Smith arrived in Paris on Sunday at two o’clock in the afternoon. He walked a few blocks from the train station and saw a big sign on a building. It said “House of Victoria.” He went in. The building was a meeting place for people from his country, and he met three other students there.‎ ‎ They lived together in a small apartment. It was not so crowded, and it was not very expensive, either. Edward asked, “Do you want another roommate?” They did, so he moved in with them. The building had two stories, and there were two bedrooms and two bathrooms in their apartment. Edward liked the place. It was clean, and the furniture was nice. There was always hot water. His roommates had a TV set. What he liked most was the swimming pool. He got to know some neighbors, especially the woman who lived next door, who became Mrs. Smith three years later when they went back to the United States.‎
