Research famous drawings.‎ B Oumuamua,an object through space that was discovered on October 19th, has already made history. The speed at which it is moving relative to the sun means that it cannot be native to the solar system. Its official name is thus II/2017 UI, with the “I” standing for “interstellar(星际)”—the first time this name has ever been used.‎ That is exciting. Some scientists, though, entertain an ever more exciting possibility: what if Oumuamua is not an asteroid(小行星),as most think, but an alien(外星的)spacecraft? Asteroid come in ll sorts of shapes and sizes, but Oumuamua seems particularly different. As best as astronomers can tell, it is cigarlike, being roughly 180 meters long but only about 30 meters wide. That makes it longer than anything known of in the solar system.Such a shape would be a sensible choice for a spaceship, since it would minimize the scouring(冲刷)effect of interstellar dust.‎ With that in mind the Breakthrough Listen project, an organization aimed at hunting for alien life, plans to turn the world’s biggest radio telescope, the Green Bank instrument in Virginia, towards Oumuamua to see if it can hear anything interesting.Oumuamua is currently about twice as far from Earth as Earth is from the sun. At that range, the telescope should be sensitive enough to pick up a transmitter about as powerful as a mobile phone after just a few seconds—worth of observations.‎ Will it find anything? Almost certainly not.Oumuamua has the same reddish color as many as asteroids,so probably has a similar composition. And, if it really is a spaceship, it is strange that signs of its artificial origin have not been seen already. It ‎ could, in theory, be a derelict(遗弃星球). But in that case the telescope is unlikely to hear anything. By far the most likely option is that it is exactly what it seems to be: a huge space rock, one that has come to the solar system from the vast space between the stars.‎ ‎24.What makes some scientists think Oumuamua is possibly an alien spacecraft?‎ A. Its size. B. Its color.‎ C. Its shape. D. Its speed.‎ ‎25.What does the underlined word“that”in the third paragraph probably mean?‎ A. The research into the solar system.‎ B. The purpose of hunting for alien life.‎ C. The effect of interstellar dust on Oumuamua.‎ D. The possibility of Oumuamua being a spaceship.‎ ‎26.What is Oumuamua most likely to be according to the author?‎ A. An asteroid. B. A space rock.‎ C. Interstellar dust. D. An alien spacecraft.‎ ‎27.It can be inferred from the last paragraph that__________.‎ A. Oumuamua will return to where it’s from soon B. Oumuamua’s real identity remains to be found out C. astronomers have not seen signs of Oumuamua’s artificial origin D. the Green Bank telescope has already heard something from Oumuamua C Do you often feel tired? Is it really because of the large amount of mental work you do? Here is an astonishing and significant fact: Mental work alone can’t make us tired. It sounds absurd. But a few years ago, scientists tried to find out how long the human brain could labor without reaching a stage of fatigue (疲劳). To the amazement of these scientists, they discovered that blood passing through the brain, when it is active, shows no fatigue at all! If we took a drop of blood from a day laborer, we would find it full of fatigue toxins(毒素) and fatigue products. But if we took blood from the brain of an Albert Einstein, it would show no fatigue toxins at the end of the day.‎ So far as the brain is concerned, it can work as well and swiftly at the end of eight or even twelve hours of effort as at the beginning. The brain is totally tireless. So what makes us tired?‎ Some scientists declare that most of our fatigue comes from our mental and emotional attitudes. One of England’s most outstanding scientists, J.A. Hadfield, says, “The greater part of the fatigue from which we suffer is of mental origin. In fact, fatigue of purely physical origin is rare.” Dr. Brill, a famous American scientist, goes even further. He declares, “One hundred percent of the fatigue of a sitting worker in good health is due to emotional problems.”‎ What kinds of emotions make sitting workers tired? Joy? Satisfaction? No! A feeling of being bored, anger, anxiety, tenseness, worry, a feeling of not being appreciated —— those are the emotions that tire sitting workers. Hard work by itself seldom causes fatigue. We get tired because our emotions produce nervousness in the body.‎ ‎28.What surprised the scientists a few years ago?‎ A. Fatigue toxins could hardly be found in a laborer’s blood.‎ B. The brain could work for many hours without fatigue.‎ C. Albert Einstein didn’t feel worn out after a day’s work.‎ D. A mental worker’s blood was filled with fatigue toxins.‎ ‎29.According to the author, which of the following can make sitting workers tired?‎ A. Unpleasant emotions. B. Challenging mental work.‎ C. Endless tasks. D. Physical labor.‎ ‎30.What’s the author’s attitude towards the scientists’ ideas?‎ A. He doubts them.‎ B. He argues against them.‎ C. He agrees with them.‎ D. He hesitates to accept them.‎ ‎31.We can infer from the passage that in order to stay energetic, sitting workers need to ___________.‎ A. discover fatigue toxins B. have some good food C. exercise regularly D. enjoy their work D From fast food cooks to doormen at restaurants and hotels, robots are slowly entering the workforce in nearly every industry. Most recently, the world welcomed its first operational robot policeman.‎ ‎“Robocop”,the newest member of the Dubai police force, made the first public appearance on Sunday at the Fourth Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference, where it greeted guests. At about 70 inches tall and weighing nearly 220 pounds,Robocop seeks to engage with residents and tourists.Featuring an “emotion detector (探测器)”,the robot can recognize a person’s gestures and body language from about 5 feet away.‎ Robocop’s skills don’t stop there—the emotionally intelligent bot can detect if a person is happy, sad and even angry by studying his or her facial expression. And just like your human friends would do,if Robocop sees you’re unhappy,it will try to lift your spirits.More importantly, when it comes to fighting crime, the robot uses the Internet, artificial intelligence and other smart technologies to spot offenders using facial recognition. Its navigation(导航) skills grant it the ability to map out areas and travel on its own.Equipped with a built-in tablet,Robocop can communicate with people, speak six languages, respond to public inquiries, shake hands and even make military salutes.‎ ‎“With the aim to assist people on the streets,” said Brigadier-General Khalid Nasser Al Razzouqi,director-general of smart services at Dubai Police,“the Robocop is the latest smart addition to the force and has been designed to help us fight crime recently, keep the city safe and improve happiness levels.”‎ ‎32.According to the text,Robocop can .‎ A.use body language B.make people happy C.cook fast food D.ask questions in public ‎33.What is the key part when Robocop makes a traveling route?‎ A.Its navigation skills.‎ B.Its built-in tablet.‎ C.Its emotion detector.‎ D.Its own ability to travel.‎ ‎34.Robocop is designed with the original intention of .‎ A.fighting crime B.acting as a doorman C.helping people on the streets D.communicating with people ‎35.What can be the best title for the text?‎ A.Robocop Has Drawn Great Public Attention B.Robocop Is Playing the Role as a Policeman C.Robocop Will Help You Anytime and Anywhere D.Robocop Is on the Way to Replacing the Police Official 第二节 (共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分)‎ 根据短文内容从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ Most students have experienced or suffered from procrastination(拖延症). Here are some tips to help you reduce procrastination.‎ Set goals Students often procrastinate because they think that they can put off the work for a while and enjoy their time at the moment. 36., when the deadline becomes one day away and the essay has yet to be started. In order to stay on track, you should constantly set and update goals. It can be beneficial to mark all deadlines in a planner and think about how much time you need to meet them all. Update your plan for the upcoming two weeks so that you do not get overwhelmed, and continue to update as other assignments and events arise. Additionally, make a daily schedule in order to reach necessary goals before going to bed.‎ Reward yourself It can become extremely difficult to work for hours straight in order to finish schoolwork. In order to keep productivity, set breaks at the end of a period of time or ‎ once you finish a section of your work so that you can reward yourself with some deserved, scheduled, and controlled procrastination-like activities. 37.. Breaks like these are proven to increase productivity and keep you focused, and they will make the process of studying much more bearable!‎ Remind yourself of what you’re doing Sometimes you may begin to think that what you are working on has little to do with what you ultimately want to do. You may consider some work or a class pointless and not useful to your further studies. However, when these thoughts arise, remind yourself what the ultimate goal of your schooling is. Remind yourself why you wanted to go to school and take this program in the first place. 38..‎ Turn off the Internet ‎39.. If you do not need the Internet to do your work, turn it off so that you are not receiving notifications while completing your work, and you are not so tempted to search for sites. The same goes for your cell phone; you can take a break from being connected to the cyber world in order to do your schoolwork. If you feel the need to check messages and websites often, set time when you will allow yourself to do so rather than constantly staying connected.‎ ‎40.‎ Being productive for all hours of every day does not work—you do need breaks, and as a student you are entitled to have a lot of fun. So, in order to balance productivity and amusement, plan time to go out with friends or do something relaxing. But ideally, social and relaxations plans should be made after a significant portion of work is complete. This way, while you are working, you can keep in mind that once you have finished your work you can go out and not worry about your assignments.‎ A. Enjoy every minute in school B. Have something to look forward to C. The Internet has become an essential part of our daily life D. You may understand why you should focus on completing your work E. This thought tends to make things worse, though F. Some of the most common distractions are those found on the Internet G. You may have coffee with a friend, cook, or watch a television show 第三部分 语言知识运用(共两节,满分45分)‎ 第一节 (共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)‎ 阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。‎ Hello, Mr. Wi-Fi.
