考点强化练第77页
Ⅰ.阅读理解
Christmas Day is for eating, drinking, watching bad TV—and trying to cover up your embarrassment as you realize your husband’s aunt Maude has spent her pension on your present while you bought her a set of Christmas cards.
Present-buying can be a minefield:from how much to spend,to whether to risk surprising receivers with a gift they don’t want,to knowing if you should buy your neighbor you only say hello to a little something.
Here,FEMAIL has asked experts for their top tips on how to select present to ensure the only thing that’s red this Christmas is Santa Claus’ nose.
“If you’ve just started seeing someone you don’t need to spend a fortune,”says dating advisor James Preece.
“It’s much better to impress them with your imagination by choosing a gift that’s a little bit different.£20 is about the right amount, with a maximum of £50 if you can afford it.”
“Or you don’t even need to go that far”,says relationship expert Helen Rice.“Plan to spend a romantic evening together or have a fun day out.Feel free to give the person you’re dating something thoughtful, just don’t spend a lot of money.”
“If you’re in a long-term relationship then your budget really reflects on your personal situation,”adds James.“You don’t need to go crazy, but it’s a great opportunity to show you love and appreciate them.”
“It’s also best to buy a few cheaper presents rather than a big one.Part of the fun is the mystery and unwrapping,so it will last longer if you give them several to enjoy.”

Ⅲ.读后续写
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
While I was reading, the telephone rang. “Hello, this is He Yu. When do you plan to see your students with me?” The other side of the phone asked. “Well, let us make it at Friday if it’s OK for you!” “OK, see you that day.”
Having hanged up the phone, I began to recall my days of five months’ internship(实习生). Two years ago, I took the position of the grade four practice English teacher in the Quan Nan Third Primary School. The moment I left, I promised to the crying students to come back to see them. Now the day came.
What should I bring to them? I considered this question with a pen twirled around my fingers. Pen? A scene rose before my eyes that those children hold already—short pencils writing on their papers. Pens
were exactly what they needed. It was the best choice. So I went to a shop to choose 106 pens for my 106 students.
I began the trip with a heavy bag of pens. Upon my arrival at school, dozens of students crowded forward and I was soon surrounded by the jumping boys and girls. “Miss Xiao, you finally come, we have been looking forward to your coming all the time!” said Li Yan, a well-performed girl.
“Nice to meet you again!” I greeted to them. “Nice to meet you, too!” A voice came from the corner of the class. It was Miao Chen, a boy whose uncontrollable behavior had always driven me crazy. I was surprised at his reaction for my appearance. “Oh, your English is much better than before!” “He has been learning to learn English since you left!” A boy called out. “He once said he missed you!” Another boy shouted. The crowded exploded with laughter. Miao Chen turned aside to hide his shyness. I came to him and put my hand on his shoulder, “I believe you are a good boy.”He raised his head and smiled brightly.

参考范文
Paragraph 1:
“This time I bring some presents for you.”On hearing the news, the children could not help clapping hands and jumping around. There were 106 students and each person had one. “Miss Xiao, why do you give us gifts?” asked Miao Chen. “It’s for souvenir.” I replied. “But why choose pen?” He asked again.“You can use it to record what happened every single day.I hope you study happily and write your own life.” I explained. He nodded without fully understanding.
Paragraph 2:
When it was time to go,they all came to see me off. They were reluctant to part with me again. “Miss Xiao, will you teach us in the future?” Li Yan asked. “Maybe not.” I turned around. “You mean this is the last time we meet?”Li Yan whispered disappointedly.“If we have a chance to meet some day, show me the pen and let me know you, OK?”I tried to comfort them. “OK!” They made a rapid response to me. At sunset I left them. I came with 106 pens in the bag, while I went with full love in my heart.
