Bethany Simpson, a pupil at St Columb Major Academy, bravely stepped in when her
stepfather Robert Hoskins stopped breathing on March15. She delivered CPR(心肺复
苏法) before the ambulance arrived.
Bethany's mother Jane and Robert were watching TV in bed when both of them had
fallen asleep, but Jane woke up and noticed Robert's breathing had become weak and

thank St John Ambulance for teaching the children first aid. If it wasn't for them
and Bethany, I wouldn't be here. ”The ten-year-old says she doesn't believe she is
a hero. “I am just glad my dad is still here, ”she added.
Both Robert and Jane believe the government should ask all schools to teach first
aid. “This incident just shows why it's important to teach everyone first aid
traders.

Ambulance gave her, Robert would be dead and I would be heartbroken. I am so proud

cook a meal, how to play chess, which place is nice for the holiday family trip, read
the menu before ordering food, and read the instructions before using a new machine.
These all can help you become more prepared before you really get into it.

When you are reading, you are actually gaining the knowledge and experience of
someone. It can speed up your success towards a goal, as you don't need to repeat
the same mistakes while focusing on the right path in achieving one thing. It's like
a mountain of jewelry for you to discover in books, which contain people' ssuccesses,

Exam time is the most stressful period for students. But help is at hand for those
studying at the University of Bristol thanks to a special "puppy room”toaid
relaxation and calmness.
Students are being invited to hold guide dogs and their puppies with organizers
hoping the cute puppies can provide ways to reduce stresses of revision.It comes from
research published in Japan, which suggests pictures of cute things like puppies or
kittens can help improve concentration levels and performance.
Gordon Trevett from the university wanted to bring the puppy love to Bristol with
the help of the charity Guide Dogs. He said, “Every year I see students worrying
about their exams and I thought this would be a great way to ease the stress and take
their minds off it. People with dogs have lower blood pressure in stressful situations

than those without a dog. It's proved really popular and over 600 students have signed
up. ”
There will be around 20 dogs and puppies throughout the day.To ensure the puppies
aren't agitated(激怒), the number of people allowed in the room is limited and each
group will last 15 minutes.Students will be asked to make a suggested donation(捐
款)of 2 dollars to Guide Dogs.
Sarah Knox said, “Guide Dogs is pleased to be able to work with the University
of Bristol and allow students the chance to de-stress at the busy exam time. We are
