Americans are famous for being friendly to people.Their friendships, however, tend to be shorter and more casual( 随 意 的 ) than friendships among people from other cultures. It is not uncommon for Americans to have only one close friend during their lifetime, and consider other “friends” to be just social acquaintances (泛泛之交).This attitude probably has something to do with American mobility and the fact that Americans dislike to be dependent on other people. They tend to “compartmentalize” ( 划 分 ) friendships, having “friends at work”“friends on the softball team”“family friends” and so forth.
Because the United States is a highly active society, full of movement and change, people always seem to be on the go.In this highly charged atmosphere, Americans sometimes seem abrupt ( 无 礼 的 ) or impatient. They want to get to know you as quickly as possible and then move on to something else.Sometimes, they ask you questions that you may feel very personal. No insult is intended; the questions usually grow out of their true interest or curiosity, and their impatience to get to the heart of the matter.
And the same goes for you.If you don't understand certain American behavior or you want to know more about them, do not hesitate to ask them questions about themselves.Americans are usually eager to explain all about their country or anything “American” in which you may be interested. They explain so much in fact that you may become tired of listening. It doesn't matter because Americans tend to be uncomfortable with silence during a conversation. They would rather talk about the weather or the latest sports scores, for instance, than deal with silence.
On the other hand, don't expect Americans to be knowledgeable about international geography or world affairs, unless those subjects directly involve the United States.Because the United States is geographically distant from many other nations, some Americans tend not to be aware of what goes on in other parts of the world.
23. According to the passage, Americans' attitude towards friendship is .
A. that it is unusual to have only one close friend
B. more informal than that in other countries
C. to regard all friends as only social acquaintances
D. to divide friends into several grades

A.Americans know a lot about international affairs. B.Friendships among Americans tend to be more formal. C.Americans always seem to be on the move.
D.Americans like to cooperate with other people. 27.It can be inferred from the passage that .
A.Americans want to take part in all kinds of activities B.curiosity is the major characteristic of Americans C.Americans do not know how to deal with silence
D.Americans' characters are influenced by their social and geographical
environments

Strangely enough, music is no fun at all for some people. About four percent of the population is what scientists call "amusic", People who are amusic are born without the ability to recognize or reproduce musical notes. Amusic people often cannot tell the difference between two songs. Amusics can only hear the difference between two notes if they are very far apart on the musical scale(音阶).
As a result, songs sound like noise to an amusic. Many amusics compare the sound of music to
pieces of metal hitting each other. Life can be hard for amusics. Their inability to enjoy music set them apart from others. It can be difficult for other people to identify(认同)with their condition. In fact, most people cannot begin to grasp what it feels like to be amusic. Just going to a restaurant or a shopping mall can be uncomfortable or even painful. That is why many amusics intentionally stay away from places where there is music. However, this can result in withdrawal and social isolation. "I used to hate parties," says Margaret, a seventy-year- old woman who only recently discovered that she was amusic.
By studying people like Margaret, scientists are finally learning how to identify this unusual condition.
Scientists say that the brains of amusics are different from the brains of people who can appreciate music. The difference is complex, and it doesn't involve defective hearing. Amusics can understand other nonmusical sounds well. They also have no problems understanding ordinary speech. Scientists compare amusics to people who just can't see certain colorls.
Many amusics are happy when their condition is final diagnosed. For years , Margaret felt
embarrassed about her problem with music. Now she knows that she is not alone. There is a name for her condition. That makes it easier for her to explain. "When people invite me to a concert, I just say, No, thanks, I am amusic', "says Margaret. "I just wish I had learned to say that when I was seventeen and not seventy. "
28. Amusics have the following characteristics except that .
A. they are born without the ability to recognize musical notes
B. they hate music and often keep off places where there is music
C. they are set apart from others as they fail to enjoy music
D. they prefer to make metal noise rather than listen to music
29. How do scientists finally identify the unusual condition of amusic?
A. By sorting documents and data. B. By studying people with amusic
C. By making a lot of experiments. D. By drawing on research results of others.
30. What does the underlined word most probably mean in the passage?

28. In the last paragraph, Margaret expressed her wish that .
A. she were seventeen years old rather than seventy

The phone will run on Huawei’s Kirin 980 processor and Balong 5000 chipset(芯片组),which supports 5G. The company said the super-fast chipset will allow users to download a 1 gigabyte movie in just 3 seconds, which will help “change the world that we currently know”.
The device boasts of two column browsing or multi-window use. The lopsidedness(不匀称) of Huaweiˈs folded displays are due to a vertical(垂直的)camera bar that runs along the back of the phone—a 40 MP main camera, a 16 MP wide angle lens, and an 8 MP telephoto—and an LED flash, and a power button..
It features a camera system that can play the role of both front and rea(r

The Huawei launch drew huge crowds. Fans queued outside the venue hours before the kickoff and those who couldnˈt get in watched the event outside on a big screen. At times, they burst into excited applause.

I'm worried that you've been addicted to share pictures in WeChat circle recently. You even share all sorts of photo in your daily life. Of course, WeChat makes better to understand each other and makes our life more colorful, which is very convenient for us to communicate with. However, there exist some potential trouble if we overshare. One severe problem is leaking privacy, that may cause economic losses. Besides, oversharing can make others uncomfortably, for they think you are showing off.
Thus, neither should we post our personal information, or should we blindly add strangers to a list of friends. It's much wise to set aside some time to accompany parents or do something more meaningful, such as reading books or taking exercise.
