Are you looking for something to do? You might like to try one of these four experiences.
Crocodile watching
Do you fancy getting up close to some of the most terrifying animals on earth? Crocosaurus Cove, in Darwin (Australia) has the “Cage of Death”. It’s an enclosure that’s lowered into a pool. This gives you a 360 degree view of a crocodile as it was being fed. The cable broke once and the cage sank to the bottom, but they’ve fixed it since then.
Edge walk
How about walking along the edge of a building several hundred meters up in the air? If that sounds like fun, head off to the CN Tower in Toronto (Ontario, Canada). Built in 1976, the tower is 553.33 meters tall.
The Edge walk consists of a 20-30 minute stroll along a 1.5 meter wide platform that runs around the tower’s restaurant roof. During the walk, you’re encouraged to lean forwards as you look over Toronto’s skyline (轮廓线).
Plastic ball rolling
Do you fancy rolling down a hill in a plastic ball?
Plastic ball rolling is popular all over the world, but the place to give it a go is in Rotorua (New Zealand). Brother David and Andrew Akers came up with the idea in 1994. A typical orb (球) is about 3 meters in diameter, with an inner orb size of about 2 meters. There’s no brake or steering mechanism, but the inner layer of the plastic ball helps absorb the shock.
Volcano bungee jumping
If you’re looking for the adventure of a lifetime, how about going bungee jumping off a helicopter into the crater of a live volcano? As part of the jumping, a helicopter ride takes you to the Villarreal volcano, one of the most active in Chile. Once you’re at the drop zone, you leap off the helicopter and fall into the volcano. Finally, you enjoy the ride back to the airport flying at 130kph.

Many cars advertisements in the United States are red, blue or green. But nearly 75% of the new cars sold in the United States are black, white, silver or gray.
Les Jackson is a reporter who writes about cars. He says Americans prefer the cars whose colors do not show dirt clearly. In this way, the owners can wash their cars less to save money. In fact, some areas that are short of water do not allow people to wash their cars often.
Dan Benton works for a company called Axalta, which sells paint(涂料)to international car markers. He says white cars are usually sold at a better price than cars of other colors. And they absorb less energy, which means temperatures inside them are lower in warmer areas. Besides, research at Monash University in Australia suggests that there is a lower risk of car accidents during the day for white cars compared with darker ones. In China, many buyers say white makes a small car look bigger.
Axalta says about 11% of the cars sold in North America are red and 8% are blue. In South America, 10% of the new cars sold are red.
“Green cars have become less popular,” Dan Benton says. “In the mid 1990s, green was the most popular color in North America. But today, green cars are hard to find.”
In the future, people may not have to choose the color of their cars---technology may let owners change their cars’ paint color anytime.

French writer Frantz Fanon once said: "To speak a language is to take on a world, a culture." Since the world changes every day, so does our language.
More than 300 new words and phrases have recently made it into the Oxford Dictionary Online, and in one way or another they are all reflections of today’s changing world.
After a year that was politically unstable(不稳定的), it's not hard to understand the fact that people's political views are one of the main drives of our enlarging vocabulary. One example is "clicktivism", a compound of "click" and "activism". It refers to "armchair activists" -- people who support a political or social cause, but only show their support from behind a computer or smart phone.
"We had all the words around Brexit(脱欧) in the last update and we are now starting to see all the words around Trump coming into the dictionary," Angus Stevenson, Oxford Dictionaries' head of content development, told The Guardian.
Lifestyle is also changing our language. For example, "fitspiration" -- a compound of fit and inspiration -- refers to a person or thing that encourages one to exercise and stay fit and healthy. The phrase "climate refugee" -- someone who is forced to leave their home due to climate change -- reflects people's concern for the environment.
According to Stevenson, social media was the main source for the new expressions "People feel much freer to coin their own words these days." he said.
But still, not all newly- invented words get the chance to make their way into a mainstream dictionary. If you want to create your own hit words(热词), Angus Stevenson suggests that you should not only make sure that they are expressive and meaningful, but also have an attractive sound so that people will enjoy saying them out loud.
28. Why does the author mention Brexit and Trump?
A. To explain the origin of the word "clicktivism".
B. To show the influences of current events on the English language.
C. To highlight two major political events that changed the world.
D. To explain what kind of new words can make it into a dictionary.
29. The underlined word "coin "in the sixth paragraph probably means ________.
A. use B. record C. change D. create
30. How is the article mainly written?
A. By giving examples. B. By making comparisons.
C. By following a timeline. D. By presenting research findings.
31. What is the article mainly about?
A. New words and phrases into the Oxford Dictionary Online.
B. The application of new words and phrases.
C. New words and phrases in politics.
D. The influence of social media on our language.

【解答】Mrs.Smith was unable to fall sleeping at night and was very tired during the day to do anything, even the simple things that she used to enjoy do.She had

1.sleeping改为asleep 考查固定搭配 fall asleep为固定搭配,意思为"睡觉,入睡"的意思.2.very改为too 考查固定搭配 too…to意思为"太…而不能".句意为:Mrs.Smith因为晚上经常失眠,所以白天太累而不能做任何事情.
3.do改为doing 考查动名词 enjoy后面需要加动名词的形式.
4.it改为which 考查定语从句 从句中缺少主语,而且是物,所以需要用which引导非限制性定语从句.
5.watched改为watching 考查动名词 or前后的并列部分用作介词from的宾语,故应使用动词ing形式.
6.去掉more 考查比较级 worse是bad的比较级,前面不可再加more.
7.listen 后加to 考查固定搭配 listen to 意为"听…",listen属于不及物动词,其后需要跟介词to.
8.serious改为seriously 考查副词 后面wrong为形容词,修饰形容词应使用副词.
9.aren't改为don't 考查动词 你没有严重的问题,但是我接受这个事实:就是你确实感觉不好.从句中不缺少任何成分,时态为一般现在时,需要加助动词就可以.
10.felt改为feel.考查时态 明天早上再来,并且告诉我你的感觉.句子用祈使句表示一般将来时,所以用动词原形.
