阅读下列短文 ,从每题所给的四个选项 (A 、B 、C 和 D )中 ,选出最佳选项 ,并在题卡上将该项涂黑。

Megan
When I was younger, I spent all the money I got. After a couple of years, I began wondering why I didn't have any savings. Things had to change. It was then that I opened a bank account (账户). Even saving just a tiny amount each month can make quite a difference, so my advice would be for children like me to open an account and start saving.
Jamie
My advice is “be strict and know what you're spending”. I keep a budget (预算) so that I know exactly how much money I can spend on clothes, how much on going out with my friends and how much I need to save. I now work at the weekend, so I don't have to ask my parents for pocket money.
Laura
I always get pocket money from my parents. I would buy a coffee here or a sandwich there, and even though that only means two or three pounds a time, it soon increases in amount. One day I made a list of all the things I'd bought that week and it really surprised me. I'd spent 30 pounds on, well, nothing really! If I could give anyone advice, I would tell them to always ask themselves, “Do I really need this?”
Olivia
My dad lost his job recently, so my pocket money stopped. Now I'm doing a part-time job on Tuesdays and Fridays. It isn't a lot, but it is enough. Not only have I become more responsible about money and how I spend it, but I feel good that I'm working for it and not just relying on my parents. My advice to anyone is not to expect money to always be there and make sure you save enough for a rainy day.

Many people suffer from color blindness in some way. Women are luckier, only about one in two hundred is affected in this matter. Perhaps, after all, it is safer to be driven by a woman!
There are different forms of color blindness. In some cases a man can not see deep red. He may think that red, orange and yellow are all shades of green. Sometimes a person cannot tell the difference between blue and green. In rare cases an unlucky man may see everything in shades of green — a strange world indeed.
Color blindness in human beings is a strange thing to explain. In a single eye there are millions of very small things called “cones”. These help us to see in a bright light and to tell difference between colors. There are also millions of “rods” but these are used for seeing when it is nearly dark. They show us shape but no color.
Some insects have favorite colors. Mosquitoes (蚊子) like blue but do not like yellow. Red light will not attract insects, but a blue lamp will. In a similar way human beings also have favorite colors. Yet we are lucky. With the aid of the cones in our eyes we can see many beautiful colors by day, and with the aid of the rods we can see shapes at night. One day we may even learn more about the invisible (看不见的)colors around.
25. Why do some people say it is safer to be driven by women?
A. Women are more careful.
B. There are few color-blind women.
C. Women are fonder of driving than men.
D. Women are weaker but quicker in thinking
26. This passage is mainly about ________.
A. color and its surprising effects B. women being luckier than men
C. danger caused by color blindness D. color blindness
27. According to the passage, with the help of the “cones”, we can _____
A. tell orange from yellow B. see in weak light
C. kill mosquitoes D. tell different shapes
28. We can attract and kill mosquitoes by using a ________.
A. red light B. yellow light C. blue light D. green light

Happiness is for everyone. You don’t need to care about those people who have beautiful houses with large gardens and swimming pools or those who have nice cars and a lot of money and so on. Why? Because those who have big houses may often feel lonely and those who have cars may want to walk on the country roads in their free time.
In fact, happiness is always around you if you put your heart into it. When you are in trouble at school, your friends will help you; when you study hard at your lessons, your parents are always taking good care of your life and your health; when you get a success, your friends will say congratulations to you; when you do something wrong, people around you will help you to correct it. And when you do something good to others, you will feel happy, too. All these are your happiness. If you notice a bit of them, you can see that happiness is always around you.
Happiness doesn’t mean money. It is a feeling of your heart. When you are poor, you can also say you are very happy, because you have something that can’t be bought with money. When you meet with difficulties, you can say loudly you are very happy, because you have more chances to challenge yourself. As the saying goes, life is like a revolving(旋转的)door. When it closes, it also opens. If you take every chance you get, you can be a happy and lucky person.
29. When you do something wrong, people around you will_______.
A. quarrel with you B. help you correct it
C. do something wrong like you D. laugh at you
30. What will your friends say when you make great progress?
A. Oh, so do I. B. Congratulations!
C. Good luck! D. Just so-so!
31. Which of the following is NOT true according to the passage?
A. People who have cars would never like to walk in the open air.
B. You can get help from others when you are in trouble.
C. You can still be a happy person even if you have little money.
D. Happiness is always around you though difficulties come towards you.
32. The passage mainly tells us_______.
A. parents always care for our life and health
B. we’re not happy if we meet with difficulties
C. happiness is always around us
D. life is colorful

A new study, conducted by British company Mindlab International, has found that listening to music at work increases accuracy (精确) and speed, The Telegraph reported.
Perhaps, some parents disagree with this idea, saying, "Switch off the music and concentrate!" Well, if that's the case with your parents, you might now be able to convince them that you have science on your side.
The company gave 26 participants (参与者)a series of different tasks for five days in a row, including spell checking, mathematical word problems, data entry, and abstract reasoning. The participants completed these tasks while listening to music or no music at all.
The results showed that while music was playing, 88% of participants produced their most accurate test results and 81% completed their fastest work. David Lewis, chairman of Mindlab International, told The Telegraph, "Music is a very powerful management tool if you want to increase not only the efficiency of your workforce but also their emotional state... they are going to become more positive about the work."
However, you may have a list of your favorite songs, but not all kinds of music match all homework. For maths or other subjects involving numbers or attention to detail, you should listen to classical music, the study found. In the study, pop music
enabled participants to complete their tasks 58% faster than when listening to no music at all. If you are reviewing your English writing, pop music is the best choice, as it is the best kind for spell checking. It cut mistakes by 14%, compared to listening to no music. After finishing your homework, do you often take time to check your answers? Maybe, some dance music is suitable for you.
33.What does the underlined word "they" in Para 4 refer to?
A. Results. B. Tools. C. Participants. D. Tests.
34.When you review your English writing, what kind of music should you listen to?
A. Classical music. B. Dance music. C. Pop music. D. Rock music.
35.What is the best title for the text?
A. Music Helps Us to Learn B. We Can’t Live Without Music
C. Not All Music Suits You D. Listen to Different Music
