Good morning, everyone. My name is Li Shenglan. I am a teacher from No.2 Middle School. Today, it’s my honor to stand here to present my class. And I hope you can enjoy the journey I bring to you. In my presentation, there are totally 5 parts. Now, let’s go to the first part.
Analysis of Teaching Material
In this class, we will go to learn the first period of Unit 7 How do you make a banana milk shake, which is from Go For It Grade eight of People's Education Press in English. In this unit, there are three parts, including Section A, Section B and Self Check. And my class is Section A from 1a to 2c. This is the basis part of the whole unit. So it’s very important for students to learn. It not only includes some basic new words of this unit, but also has the basic task for students. In this period, students need to learn how to make food following the instructions by learning how to make a banana milk shake. And this part will go on learning Simple Present Tense, and the imperative sentence is also the main part.
Teaching Aims

Analysis of the Students
The students in Junior 8 have learnt some fruit and drinks before. They also learn a little about imperative sentence. But they can’t keep their minds long focusing on one thing. So in class we learn the instructions by making the food by them. We do oral practice, we try to imitate, work in groups, and work in pairs and so on. Thy can learn English through all kinds of activities.
Teaching Methods
English new course standard emphasizes students’ interests, life experiences and
cognitive level. It also emphasizes to develop students’ communication ability and make learning process to be full of positive emotional attitude, active thinking, bold practice and cross-cultural consciousness. Therefore, according to these, in this class I will use three main teaching methods as following:

l Encouraging teaching method

l The real things which will be used in this lesson, such as bananas, milk, yogurt, blender and so on.

Step 1 Warm up and lead in (1 minute)

Watch a flash
Play a flash named Greedy Monkey
Give students a very relaxing studying environment and attract students’ attention that class begins.
Step 2 Talking (2 minutes)

Purpose
Look at some pictures of fruit and drinks.
Show some pictures of fruit and drinks on the screen
Use the multi-media to wake up students’ verbal intelligence. These pictures also arouse their study emotion and willing.
Two students as a group to talk about the questions on the tutoring paper. The questions are as following:
1. What fruit can your partner see in this picture?
2. What’s your partner’s favorite fruit?
3. What’s your partner’
Show the questions which are on the tutoring paper on the screen.
Develop students’ co-operation ability and review the knowledge they learnt before. The questions on the tutoring paper are good for students to understand others’ likes and dislikes.

One minute later, share answers to others.
Choose 6 groups to show answers;
Give the students who show answers some gifts.
Gifts can encourage students to join in activities in class actively. It will arouse students in different levels to be interested in this class.
Step 3 New words learning (5 minutes)

Being volunteers to teach new words to other students
Being a teacher assistant to help volunteers show the new words on the screen;
Give volunteers gifts.
Embody English New Course Standard that students are the main part in class. The gifts let students taste the success of previewing new words.
Take part in a guess game about new words.
Make actions or sounds for students to guess new words or phrases.
Students can know new words and phrases more deeply in their minds. It is especially good for them to memory them.
Step 4 Practice and listen (8 minutes)

Watch a video about making a banana milk shake and think about two questions:
1. What is a banana milk shake?
2. What ingredients do we need to make a banana milk shake?
Play a video and ask students to think about two questions at the same time.
Develop students how to observe and how to self-learn.
Explain the meaning of banana milk shake;
Tell teacher about the ingredients needed.
Ask students to answer the two questions.
Check the result of watching the video.
Listen to 1b and finish it
Play the recorder
Check the answer
Train the listening ability
Watch another video about making banana milk shakes for three times: The first time they just watch, the second time they read after the video, the third time they speak it without leading;
Learn how to make a banana milk shake by the video.
Play another video for three times. In the third time, turn down the sound to zero and ask students to speak in their ways.
The video is more visual for students to learn. Through three times’ play, students learn it by themselves. It embodies the English New Course Standard. It trains students’ observing ability.
Doing a Picture Sort Activity. Put some pictures in order according the process of making a banana milk shake.
Show the pictures disorder on the screen
Enhance the process of making a banana milk shake in students’ mind.
Step5 Pair work (5 minutes)

Two students talk about how to make a watermelon milk shake for two minutes with first, then, next, finally.
Ask students to talk about how to make a watermelon milk shake;
Tour during they talk.
Check if they know the process of making milk shake well. Let them be familiar to the usage of first, then, next and finally;
Develop their creative ability.
Show their process to other students.
Check their process by listening;
Give gifts to the students who show it.
Encourage students to show themselves bravely in class.
Step 6 Group work (12 minutes)

Six students as a group make a kind of milk shake for ten 8 minutes.
Write down the process on the tutoring at the same.
Play a light music when they make milk shakes.
Tour around the class.
Cultivate students’ practical ability and communicative ability.
Develop their writing skill.
4 students as judgers to taste the milk shake of each group and check their process.
The judgers decide which group is the best cook group.
Award the best cook group with gifts.
Embody English New Course Standard that students learn happily and they are happy to learn.
Encourage students make food by their hands.
Step 7 Sum up (3 minutes)

Summary the knowledge learnt in this class one by one.
If students lose some key points, add it.
Train students to conclude the knowledge by themselves, not just depend on teachers.
Step 8 Homework (1 minute)
1. write a recipe for your favorite milk shake
2. Cook your favorite milk shake for your family. And tell the feeling tomorrow.
Purpose: In this part, it can let students understand how the parents work hard for them. So when they return home, they cook the milk shake for their family to show the love. It teaches students to feel love and thanks for the love.
