The boy was good-looking but the girl was not. One day they found a mirror and for the first time they saw what they looked like. The boy was very pleased and he said to his sister,“How handsome I am! I look much nicer than you!”‎ The girl did not like what her brother said and gave him a hard push.“Go away!”she said.‎ Their father saw what was happening. He went up to them and said to the boy,“You must always be good as well as look good.”‎ Then to the girl he said, “My dear, if you help everyone and do your best to please, everyone will love you. It will not matter that you are not as good-looking as your brother.”‎ The moral of the story is: It is better to be good than to be just good-looking.‎ Text 11‎ There are roads and highways in every part of our country. They go up mountains, through valleys, and over rivers. In summer, these roads can take you whenever you want to go.But in winter, many roads must be kept clear of snow or they cannot take you anywhere.‎ The men who work on roads work hardest in cold weather. They must clean up the snow from streets and highways, from roads and sidewalks.Airport runways and railways must be kept clear all the time.Large snowplows are used to clear roads. They push the snow off the road and over to the side.‎ Next time you travel in the winter time, think of the men who help you. They keep the roads and highways clear,so you can go anywhere you want.‎
