I have a reservation here. My name is Teddy Williams.‎ W: It's a pity. You planned to arrive at 3:00 p.m. today, but now it's already midnight, so we cancelled your reservation.‎ Text 3[来源:学&科&网Z&X&X&K]‎ W: What a lovely colour! M: What? It's horrible. It looks like mushrooms.‎ W: Don't be silly. It's nice. We can put it in our dining room.‎ M: No way! Listen, Jenny. I don't like any of this wallpaper. Why don't we try another shop?‎ Text 4‎ W: Excuse me. I wanted to see the White House.‎ M: Oh, well you don't want this bus, anyway. It goes to Georgetown.‎ W: Oh, no. what should I do?‎ M: It's all right. Just get off at the next stop and take the subway.‎ Text 5‎ M: Can you spare me some time? W: What for? I'm not really busy now.‎ M: I've got this assignment from my math teacher, but there is no way I can work it out.‎ W: Oh, then you will have to find someone else. Math always gives me a headache.‎ Text 6‎ M: Good morning. Can I help you?‎ W: Yes, I'm looking for a very special gift for a very important person.‎ M: Is it a gentleman or a lady?‎ W: A gentleman. M: In that case, let me show you these wallets. And here are some very nice tie-clips.‎ W: Those watches look rather nice.‎ M: Err, yes. But the latest model isn't available, and it's important to have the latest model. Don't you think so?‎ W: Not necessarily. I always say that style is more important than fashion.‎ Text 7‎ W: How long have you been playing basketball, Conrad?‎ M: I started to play in elementary school. Probably about 15 years. I'm 26 now.‎ W: At what age were you best? M: Probably around 20. Sometime when I was in college.‎ W: What position did you play when you played basketball?‎ M: Uh, usually guard and a little bit of forward.‎ W: Do you still watch a lot of basketball on TV? M: Well, now living in Japan I don't get many chances to watch the NBA but I do follow it on the Internet. W: Do you still play basketball? M: Yeah. I play about once a week with the club team at the university I work at. W: Thanks a lot.‎ Text 8‎ M: So, what about your new roommate? What's she like?‎ W: Her name's Kim. She's really nice. Just really friendly.‎ M: That's good. So you get along really well.‎ W: Yeah, but she's pretty talkative. She's always telling me about her work and complaining about her boyfriend. M: Huh. But at least she's not mean.‎ W: No, not mean at all. But it's not easy to study when she's home because, you know, her friends are always calling and coming over. M: She sounds incredibly popular.‎ W: Yeah, actually, she works for an ad agency. I'm always getting free tickets for concerts and things from her. So, it's worth listening to all her problems. M: Yeah.‎ Text 9‎ W: David, I'm kind of in the mood for a comedy tonight. Look, here's a Will Smith movie.‎ M: What time does it start?‎ W: Um... it's on at 6:00 and 9:30. If we leave work right at 5:00, we can make the 6 o'clock show.‎ M: Yeah, but I haven't finished work, I won't be ready to leave at 5:00. How about we go at 9:30? It's late, but at least I can finish my work, and we can eat after the movie.‎ W: Maybe there's another movie at 7:00 or 8:00? Let's see...‎ M: Oh, I know! Have you seen that new science-fiction movie with Bruce Willis?‎ W: No, but I have heard about it. I really like science fiction.‎ M: Do you? Well, see if it's playing someplace.‎ W: OK. Oh, look! It's playing at 6:30 at the Plaza tonight. M: It is? Perfect. Let's go.‎ W: But you have to finish your report... M: Oh, never mind! I'll do it tomorrow.‎ Text 10‎ M: Today I want to talk about road trips. Ah, me and my friends, when we were in high school we took a lot of road trips to lots of different places. We would go down to California, sometimes Mexico. Ah, you know I'm from Wyoming, in one weekend we drove from Wyoming, through Colorado, New Mexico and Mexico and back in the same weekend. It's a long way. It took probably about 15 hours one way. So, 30 hours all together. But it was fun. We drove down to Mexico, had a good night in a nice hotel, a good meal and drove back the next day. Then we went Ciudad Warez. That was really fun. One rule we had on our road trips was any lake or big body of water we had to stop and swim in. It was a good thing to do.‎
