Unit 5 On the road 由于费用便宜、 环保、 安全性高、 速度也比较快等优点, 乘火车出行已成为生活中大多数人出行的首选。如何让你的旅途更加舒适呢?就让我们通过下文来一起寻找答案吧! ‎ Travelling by train is one of the most environmentally friendly(环保的) ways to visit all kinds of sites in one trip. The train can carry large numbers of passengers at a time. In order to increase the comfort and restfulness(宁静) of the trip, you have to make some simple preparations. Here are some tips.‎ Bring food.‎ Depending on the distance and type of service, your train may or may not provide food on the journey. If not, you can bring a small cooler filled with sandwiches and small meals that are easy to pack and eat.If you don’t mind the extra expense, bring money to buy snacks at long stops or in the onboard cafe, if available.‎ Pack what you can carry.‎ When travelling by train, you will often have to draw your bags down narrow aisles(通道) or up steep steps. Bring only what you can carry yourself, which will also benefit(使受益) you during quick train changes. If you travel with a rolling suitcase, use a narrow one that will fit down aisles.‎ Focus on comfort.‎ Sitting for long hours on a train can be uncomfortable if your jeans are too tight(紧的;紧身的). Wear loose, soft clothing. Bring a small blanket(毯子) and pillow(枕头) for longer train trips. If you will be heading straight to a place from the train station, pack a change of clothes to help you feel fresh after a long ride.‎ Section Ⅰ Starting out & Understanding ideas 重点单词 阅读词汇 ‎(在不认识的单词前划√)‎ ‎□gallery n. □kangaroo n. □route n. ‎ - 14 -‎ 写作词汇 ‎1.destination n. 目的地,终点 ‎2.quit v. 离开(工作岗位、学校等);离任 拓展词汇 ‎3.profession n.
