Emphasize the beginning sound of each word and get the Ss to say the sound with you.‎ Step 2. Play the tape for the Ss to follow. And then make them read by themselves.‎ Step 3. Write the letters on the Bb. The letters have arrows that show how and in what sequence to make the strokes. On the Bb, show the Ss how to follow the arrows to write each letter. Encourage hem to follow your motions and write in the air as you write in the Bb. Make sure they can write the letters in their exercise book in right way.‎ Step 4‎ No. 4. What colour is it?‎ Point to the Bb, say “What colour is it?” “ It’s black”‎ Hold up a piece of paper and say “ It is white”. Point to a brown thing and teach the word brown. Discuss some words when necessary. The Ss only need to understand the main idea of the story, not every word. Have a further discussion about the story and ask some queations. Practice Hold up a picture of clothing or point to clothing the students are wearing and ask “ What is it?” Make them answer with right word. No 2 New or old Demonstrate: Hold up the new clothing with a label you brought to the clothing a student is wearing, say “It is old.” Repeat it a few times, too. Turn to student1 and ask “Is this your pen?”, he or she answers, “Yes, it is my pen.” Then you introduce the drill: Whose ______ is this? Make them understand it. No 1 Shorts, pants, shoes, socks Demonstrate: Hold up pictures or real clothing to introduce shorts, pants, shoes and socks. Say the words a few times with the class.‎ Ask the students to point to the pictures and say the words several times.‎ Explain the phrase “ a pair of” and make sure they understand the meaning. You can point to the pictures of pants, shorts, shoes or socks and say “a pair of” refers to two matching objects. Pants and shorts are “pairs” because they have two legs. Then explain “Shuang or Tao” in Chinese.‎ Step 2. Listening and repeating Play the audiotape as the students follow in their books.‎ Step 3. Practice Point to a picture of coat and say, “What is it?”. Make them answer “ It is a coat.” Then point to a picture of pants and ask “What are they?” and lead them to answer “ They are pants.”. Make sure they know when to use “What is it?” and when to use “What are they?”. Practice the drills using pictures of clothing.‎ Step 4. No 2 Do you like ____? I like _____ .‎ Demonstrate: Take out of some markers and pick up the blue one and say “I like blue. Blue is my favourite colour.”.
