Unit 8 I’ll help clean up the city park?
第一课时 单元分析与提示
教学目标
语言目标:
1、掌握一定量的动词短语的用法;
2、学会提供帮助的基本句型:
I’d like to work outside.
I’ll hope clean the city park.
I volunteer to visit the sick children in the hospital.
You could give out food at a food bank.
认知目标
掌握“would like to” “hope do sth”句型,通过练习和运用加以巩固
情感目标
1、通过本单元学习使学生更加能够用所学的知识做事情和解决问题;
2、通过对本单元的学习,增强实际交际能力,培养学生为他人着想,热爱公益事业,乐于助人的优良品质。
教学重、难点
1) Would like to do sth. = would love to do sth.
I’d like to go somewhere relaxing = I’d love to go somewhere relaxing.
2) will do sth.
表示说话者意志和意愿或者必然要发生的事,通常用“will“。
3) be going to do sth.
表示说话者打算计划要做某事、或者将要发生某事。
a. Next month my sister will be twenty-one.
这里不能说 “be going to”.
b. It’s going to rain soon. (将要发生的事情)
4) You could volunteer in an after-school study program.
can, could 表示体力上有能力去做某件事。

I’ll help clean up the city parks.
You could set up a food bank.

Teaching aims
1、能运用以下句型进行交际。
I’d like to work outside.
You could give out food at a food bank.
2、能从所听到的对话中获取信息。
3、掌握词汇及短语
volunteer, work outside, cheer up, help sb., with sth., give out, clean up, in the hospital, come up with, put off, write down, hand out, call up.
Teaching of new lesson
1. 展示几张需要帮助的人或事的图片
(如:sick people, homeless children, dirty park, hunger)
T: Do you like these picture.
S: No, they make me sad.
T: What can you see in the picture ?
S: There are some people who need help.
T: Can you tell me something about the picture ?
S: The children are very poor, they don’t have money to go to school…
2. Presentation
教学What can you do to help sick people? I could visit them in the hospital. I’d like to buy them some flowers. I hope to cheer them up.
Presentation and practice
T: What can you do to help the people who need your help? For example: What can you do to help sick people?
S:I could visit them in the hospital.
S: I’d like to buy them some flowers.
S: I hope to cheer them up.
S: I volunteer to ……
(让学生给出不同的回答,强调I’d like to, hope to, volunteer to, could和其它动词的搭配。)
3、教学 操练1a, 1c, 2c.
让学生根据图片内容对话,引出volunteer, work outside, cheer up, help sb. with sth., give out, clean up, in the hospital, 并用刚刚学到的目标句型操练。
4、教学1b, 2a, 2b
首先,帮助学生明确本题的要求。接着,听力练习,学生根据录音内容完成1b,2a and 2b。最后,重放一遍录音内容,学生跟读。
(学生通过听力练习,进一步熟悉本课的目标语言)
5、Consolidation and Extension.
完成一个任务
假设你有一个朋友周末生日,他打算在家开个生日舞会。他现在有很多事情忙不过来,你能给他提供什么帮助?
A: This weekend I’ll have a birthday party at my home, I have so many things to do, can you help me?

1、下周你们班将去老人院,去哪里什么可以做的,罗列4—5点
2、翻译下列短语。

1、能运用所掌握的语法、句型和词汇进行交流。
2、如果学校开展志愿者活动,能比较流利地讲述自己能够做的事情。
3、能运用语言和语法知识进行阅读并理解文章意思。

1. Ask the students to work in pairs using the target language.
1) A: Would you like to work outside?
B: Yes, I’d like to help clean up the city parks.
2) A: Would you like to help homeless people?
B: yes. I’d like to give out food at a food bank.
3) A: Would you like to cheer up sick kids?
B: yes, I’d like to visit then in the hospital.
4) A: Would you like to help kids with their school work ?
B: Yes. I’d like to volunteer in an after---school study program.

1) 进入本课话题
T: There three special students in No.77 High School, do you want to know them?
(展示书上图片,让学生自由提问,来激发他们对新加坡的兴趣)

What are they good at ? ……
2) 阅读理解短文,设法找出学生提出的问题的答案。
T: Read the article and circle the things you like, and underline the things you don’t like.
当学生进行阅读时,老师列出以下表达:
spend…doing, set up, each of, put off, cheer up
3. 教学 操练3b
Group work仿照书上的示范,用书上的提示让他们集体讨论解决方法。先由学生小组讨论,由两三组同学起来表演他们的对话。
4、Consolidation and Extension
完成一个任务:Group work: A survey
T: Dear classmates, in your city there are many people who need our help. What are you good at? What can we do for them? Now please make a list of things that you like are you can do for them. Then ask your partner about his interests and things he could do, after that please make a report.
全班活动。利用课文4的表格,询问同学的兴趣爱好以及根据自己兴趣爱好可以做哪些帮助人们的事。

汉译英:

1、听—能从所听到的对话中获取信息。
2、掌握词汇
run out of, take after, fix up, give away, be similar to, try to do, call up, hand out, come up with.
Teaching of new lesson
1. Warm – up.
展示图片,让学生用图片上的内容及提示短语造句。
I’ve run out of money.
I take after my mother.
I fix up my bike.
I gave away the books.
2. Presentation
教学1
在造句的基础上,能进一步用英文解释以上短语:
run out of = don’t have any of fix up = repair take after = be similar to
教学2a, 2b.
1) 首先,听力前的brainstorm.
First, Let students describe the pictures of 2a.
2) T: Jimmy is a bike boy. If you want to know more about him, please listen to the tape carefully and check the questions customers ask then listen again, and fill in the blanks.
3) Check the answers
通过听电话,学习辨别信息,选择内容并完成填空,学生通过听力练习,进一步熟悉本课的目标语言。最后,重放一遍录音内容,学生跟读。
4) 2c Pairwork
根据听力的对话内容,首先理解对话,模仿对话。
5) 表演对话(Act out)
叫部分同学演示其对话内容。
3、教学阅读3a
T: Just now we knew something about Jimmy. But these he was unhappy, What wrong with him, Please read 3a, and find the reasons.
T: If you understand the passage, please make a list of things that Jimmy did to solve his problem.
(学生通过自己阅读理解,在过程中加深印象,比老师直接说出答案要有效得多。)

1、写—能根据所学知识进行写作。
2、复习巩固本单元的主要内容。
Teaching of new lesson
1. Revision: Check homework
T: Make a plan for helping out in your community. Tell the whole class where you will help and what you will do.
让两三个同学口述自己的打算,将其要点归纳在黑板上。
For example: sing, hand out, put up……
2. Ask the students to work in pairs using the following target language.
A: I’d like to be a volunteer, but I’m not sure what I should do.
B: What do you like doing ?
A: I like……
B: Well, you could……
1) reading, help coach the students
2) like pets, help working in an animal hospital
3) singing, cheer the sick people up
4) helping the hungry people, give out food.
3. Presentation
1) 拓展性练习——写、说(Writing and speaking practice)
将全班同学分成四组进行调查(利用4的表格)
2) Self Check part 1.
填单词并用这些词造句。由学生完成练习,然后让他们用这些单词造句,如有错误,进行更正。
拓展单词和词组(exchange, need to, this time of year)运用它们进行造句)
3)Self Check part 2.
a. Expressions: want to be, ask for, call up, be able to.
b. Write an article about Sally in 2.
4) Just for Fun
a. 由3名同学运用对话在课堂上表演内容
b. 学生分析漫画内容
