It's half past eight. 此句是一个表示时间的句子， half 意为“一半”， past 意为“过，超过”。这个句子还可以这样表示： It is eight thirty. 其句型结构为： It is ＋时间. 在英语中时间通常用以下两种方法表达： （1）直接表达法 ①用基数词按“钟点+分钟”的顺序直接表达时间。 eg: six fifty 六点五十 ②用 “ 基数词+ o'clock ” 来表示整点。 eg: seven o ' clock 七点钟 （2）间接表达法 ①如果分钟数是15分钟，我们通常称为“一刻钟”，可用名词 quarter 表示，结构为： a quarter+past （介词）+钟点数，其中 past 是介词，意思是“过”。 eg: a quarter past eight 八点十五 ②当分钟数是30分钟时，也就是二分之一小时，我们也译为“半”，可用名词 half 表示,结构为： half+past +钟点数。 eg: half past ten 十点半 ③如果分钟数少于30分钟，可用分钟 +past+ 钟点表示。 eg: twenty-one past seven 七点二十一 ④如果分钟数多于30分钟，可用（60分钟-原分钟数） + to+ （原钟点数+1）表示，其中 to 是介词，意思是“差”。 eg: twenty- five to nine 八点三十五 ⑤若表示的时间不够准确，可在时间前加上介词 about 。 eg: about nine a.m. 大约上午九点 ⑥ 在时间前面应用介词 at 来表示在的意思。 eg: at about five thirty- five p.m. 大约在下午五点三十五分 Listen, read and act out.
