Internet celebrities, or wanghong in Chinese, are usually regular people who go on to attract millions of fans by creating original content on the web and social media.
The spread of social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Sina Weibo, as well as short-video sharing and live streaming platforms, has contributed to the mass production of Internet celebrities.
Internet celebrities have attracted most of the Internet users’ attention, which can translate into cash through online advertising and ecommerce. Venture capitalists(风险投资者) are acting fast in the new battlefield of Internet celebrity chasing.
A 12 million yuan ($1.74 million) investment in a female Internet celebrity from Shanghai, Jiang Yilei, known online as Papi Jiang, who is a graduate of The Central Academy of Drama and began posting her homemade videos on social networks in August last year, has captured the imagination of China’s Internet community.

When you are paying upwards of £15,000 a year to have your child privately educated, the big sum of money for extra tuition(学费) may not sit well with you. But that is exactly what seems to be happening. An increasing number of parents look to “topup” their child’s already expensive education with a private tutor.
According to managing director Nevil Chiles of Kensington & Chelsea Tutors, the agency’s students tend to fall into two groups. There are those who are struggling with a particular subject and benefit from onetoone tuition. The second group consists of students who are already excellent but whose parents want to ensure they go on to their preferred school or university.
“We felt Mica needed help with exam technique and we also realized that she did much better onetoone than in a classroom,”explains Bowman, who contacted Kensington & Chelsea Tutors on the advice of a friend who used them for her sons, including one who was attending Eton. “Mica has established a good relationship with her tutors and has gained confidence as a result of the tutoring,”adds Bowman.

One possible version:
The passage tells us what Internet celebrities are and what leads to the mass production of them. It also lists an Internet celebrity to tell us Internet celebrities have aroused venture capitalists’ interest.
Personally, I strongly oppose people’s making their every effort to become Internet celebrities based on the following two reasons. For one thing, surfing online will cost them a large amount of time, which they should make good use of to live in the present. For another, in order to hold people’s attention, many conduct some strange or crazy or even illegal behavior. Without doubt, such behavior is hardly acceptable.
To be honest, although some Internet celebrities are the focus among many people for a while, and some, like Papi Jiang, even have attracted venture capitalists’attention, most of them will soon be forgotten and ignored and they will find they eventually achieve nothing except a waste of their valuable time.

One possible version:
Private Tutoring
Nowadays, more and more students, either struggling or excelling, are turning to private tutors, despite the high tuition. Also, one example is given to prove the benefits of such tutoring.
Some reasons can account for the social phenomenon. Many parents, for various reasons, missed the chance of obtaining a good education. When their children meet with difficulties in study, they are helpless, so private tutoring is the only solution. Besides, as private tutoring is usually onetoone, parents believe the teacher can instruct the student better.
(反对版)However, I have reservations about hiring a private tutor. To begin with, the high costs of tutoring can be a burden to many families. In addition, the students are already under a lot of pressure. There’s a danger that students will lose the love of learning with too much work. In conclusion, both parents and students should be able to rely entirely on the school.
(支持版)I believe private tutoring benefits students a lot. For one thing, it helps keep students occupied with learning activities while parents are unavoidable. For another thing, tutoring can boost confidence since students are more likely to receive specific instructions and make progress. So it is reasonable to turn to private tutors.
