【参考范文】
Dear Charles,
Thank you for your concerns about my family and me.Up to now everything has gone well and
everyone in my family is fine.
Staying at home every day could be boring so I arranged the time reasonably. My daily life
consisted of activities like reading books, watching TV,taking exercises and doing housework with
my parents.Although we couldn’t go back to school as usual, online courses were available in which
various lessons were offered and our teachers were devoted to helping us in different ways. Most
importantly, members in my family encouraged each other to be in a good state of mind and have an
optimistic attitude towards life.
In spite of facing the big challenge,we firmly believe that China can beat the virus eventually
and we will go through the suffering period soon.
Thanks again.Take care!
Yours,
Li Hua

Text 10
Dear Teddy,
Having a noisy neighbor is a really common problem, especially for people who live in an
apartment.
英语参考答案·第 10 页(共 10 页)
Like you,I also had a noise problem with a neighbor. He’d watch loud movies every night,
sometimes until three in the morning. One night,I decided I’d had enough of the noise,so I went to
my neighbor’s apartment and we argued. However, that only made him turn his TV up even louder
every night after that.
A week or so later,I saw my neighbor outside.Even though we’d lived next to each other for a
long time, the first time we’d spoken was when we had our argument.
So,I chatted with him and got to know him better — I also made a joke about how I liked his
taste in movies.
That night, the noise problem stopped. It seemed that all I had to do was get my neighbor to see
me as a friend, not an enemy.
So,my advice to you is to be calm and patient with your neighbor.
One day,go over and ask if you can come in for a talk.If you mention that their noise is
affecting your studies, they should soon change their mind.
At the same time, however, not everyone is comfortable with facing people this way.If you’re
one of those people, write a polite and friendly letter instead, explaining your problem to your
neighbor.
Many people we know can make us angry, but usually, the best way to win someone over is
through kindness.
