有一个盲人住在一栋楼里。每天晚上他
都会到楼下花园去散步。奇怪的是,不论是
上楼还是下楼,他虽然只能顺着墙摸索,却
一定要按亮楼道里的灯。一天,一个邻居忍
不住,好奇地问道:“你的眼睛看不见,为
何还要开灯呢?”。盲人回答道:“开灯能
给别人上下楼带来方便,也会给我带来方
便。”邻居疑惑地问道:“开灯能给你带来
什么方便呢?”。盲人答道:“开灯后,上
下楼的人都会看见东西,就不会把我撞倒了,
这不就给我方便了吗。”邻居这才恍然大悟。

1. You could help to clean up the city parks.
1) could 是情态动词can的过去式形式,
表示过去的能力。它没有人称和数的变
化,后面接动词原形。变否定句在could
后加not, 变一般疑问句把could提前。
这个男孩七岁时就会骑自行车。
The boy could ride a bike when he was
seven.
前年你会讲日语吗?
Could you speak Japanese the year before

【注意】在某些情况下,could 并不表示
过去,只是表示委婉、客气的语气。
其肯定答语用:Sure./ Certainly./ All
right.等。
否定答语用:Sorry./Sorry, I can’t.等。

B: Sure.
当然可以。
【注意】如果在clean和up间加个连字符号,
那么,它就是名词了,表示“扫除”。

2) clean up是省去 to 的动词不定式,意为
“(把……)打扫干净”、“梳理整齐”。

我们必须想出一个计划。
need 是一个常见的动词,表示“需要”
之意。它既可以作实义动词,也可以
作情态动词。其具体用法如下:
这个人在工作时需要一本英语词典。

你必需亲自见他吗?
Do you need to see him yourself?
1) need用作实义动词,有“必要”、“必
需”之意,有人称、数和时态的变化,可
以接名词、代词、动名词或带to 的动词不
定式作宾语,构成疑问句和否定句时要借
助于助动词。

2) need用作情态动词,意为“必须”、
“必要”,没有人称、数等变化,后接
不带to 的动词不定式。 通常用于疑问句
和否定句中,构成疑问句和否定句时,
不需要
