Lesson 4 《What are you doing ? 》
一、Teaching Material Analyzing :
EEC Primary English Students’Book 6 Unit 4 . Get the students to grasp the important points about verb phrases and the form of v-ing . Understand the meaning of What are you doing ? and try to answer it . Raise the students’interest to learn English . Encourage Pupils to have good cooperation with each other and learn from each other .

1、What are you doing ?

Step 1、Warm up
1、Let’s talk in oral. e.g. My name’s …. I’m 10/11 years old. I like pink and blue. I like to eat fish and hamburgers. I can swim and I can speak English.
2、Review
Review last class we have learnt. e.g. I can draw and act it out . Ask: Can you draw?
Lead the students to answer: Yes, I can or me, too .
T: What can you do ?
S: I can dance and cook.
Step 2、Presentation
T: Point to the cards and said I can draw a fish. Now, I am drawing a fish. Encourage pupils to act it out.
S: I am drawing a fish/a cat/an apple/….
Understand and reading :
doing the dishes、drawing pictures、cooking dinner、reading a
book、answering the phone. Play the courseware about the important phrases : doing the dishes、drawing pictures、cooking dinner、reading a book、answering the phone .
Continue play the courseware.
Step 3、Practice
T: What are you doing?
S; I’m doing the dishes / reading a book / cooking dinner.
Ask the students to make a dialogue with their partner.
Show the computer pictures and practice.
Listening and reading about let’s learn carefully.
Step 4: Consolidation
T: Are you happy? Do you like watching TV? Let’s enjoy the courseware.
Class is over.
Play the courseware again.
Student read it.
