Every school has some rules for students to follow. But what happens when students break the rules? In the UK, when students don’t behave well at school, they will be given a warning (警告). But if they go on behaving badly -- like talking over the teacher -- they’ll be punished (惩罚). ______1______ Generally speaking, there are five punishments in UK schools: detention (课后留校), isolation (隔离) education unit (IEU), supervision (监管), suspension (停学) and exclusion (开除).
If you receive a detention, you’ll find yourself sitting in a room with your teacher during break, lunch or even worse, after school. _______2______ Depending on how naughty you’ve been, you can get two detentions in one day!
If you get an IEU, you’re isolated from other students. _______3_______
Supervision means that you cannot take part in PE lessons. ________4_______ In this way, all the teachers can always see you. It can make you really uncomfortable and without freedom.
Suspension means you cannot go to school for some time.
The most serious punishment you can ever receive is exclusion. You can’t go to the school any more. _________5______
Obviously, there is no total freedom in the world, no matter in the US or in China. Punishments may be a good way to discipline students somehow. If you don’t want to get punished, do behave well!

Do you use a computer? I have a Mac iBook G4. I find this little one to be fantastic, and it carries out all the functions I need. _____1_____ Some notebook computers are only a half inch in thickness but still have as much power and capacity as some desk top computers. Still it seems technology is constantly improving.
In today’s world if you are still lacking this important piece of equipment, you are missing out so much! Admittedly some name-brand computers may be a little expensive. ____2______
For many people not having a computer would mean not being able to function. __3__ There is the convenience of being able to order your weekly groceries and have the store deliver them to your door, check your bank balance at any time or even fill in your tax return!
Fortunately computer prices have reduced greatly in recent times. __4__ Recently I
paid a mere $1000 for a new Apple notebook which has 60 gigs of memory and some really great features. As time moves on, it would seem you can get far more computers for less money!
If you have not yet taken the plunge I would say go for it, get online and start a whole new adventure. __5___ You could ask a friend or family member if you could use their computer to search the net, Dell often has some great deals where you can get the whole kit for around $300.
Large superstores such as Circuit City are really good places to go for a look around and get some ideas of what is available.
