Since the 1980s eco-tourism has grown and grown. It is the fastest growing type of tourism.
If done well, eco-tourism has several advantages. It is kinder to the environment. 1 .This means that more natural habitat is protected and that the resources for building come from sustainable (可持续的) sources.Another advantage is that people in the developed world through eco-tourism get to experience places of great natural importance as well as communicating with local people. 2 .
However, there are some disadvantages of eco-tourism. It is felt by some environmentalists that any human activity will cause disorder in the routine of animals. 3 .
Another problem for local people is that they are expected to pose for cameras and dance etc. for money. 4 .The tourists are destroying the culture that they are paying to protect.
Eco-tourism tries to go to the places far away from other communities. 5 .There is nothing stopping people taking money from tourists as well as doing environmentally unfriendly activities.
It seems that the disadvantages often outweigh the advantages of eco-tourism. It might be better to take pictures of animals rather than kill animals, but given the choice the animals would sooner not have people around. It seems whether eco-tourism should be allowed should be judged case-by-case, and that the local people must be considered.
A. These places are often not well policed.
B. People walking through the forest may do much harm.
C. And these activities will also damage the eco-system.
D. It seldom ends people to untouched parts of the world.
E. This is good for both parties: they both can better understand each other.

It could happen anywhere at any time. 1 Most people, at one time or another, have been on the receiving end of a random act of kindness. In a sometimes cold world where people can be so focused on what they’re doing, a random act of kindness can make all the difference.
They can be relatively insignificant.Hannah Bailey from London, for example, told the Metro newspaper about how she was given her fruit and vegetable shopping for free. The seller did her a kindness when it emerged she didn’t have any change to pay. 2
The city of Naples has long had a tradition called ‘caffè sospeso’.When buying coffee, a person who has recently been lucky would purchase two cups but only drink one, leaving the second one anonymously(匿名), out of the goodness of their heart, for a poor person to claim for free. 3
However, in some cases, these little acts can be a matter of life and death. Take for example, the unnamed commuter, who in June 2018 fell off a station platform onto an electric railway track in Toronto, Canada. A quick-thinking, hut even now unknown, bystander selflessly leapt down to pull him to safety.
So, why do it? 4 The people never meet again. According to UK charity The Mental Health Foundation, acts like these can “give our lives new purpose, show us other perspectives on our own problems and even make us feel content.”
5 Hold open a door for someone, deliver a compliment—even give up your seat on a bus. Help someone who is in need. It takes all kinds. It needn’t be anything huge. One day, whether you need it or not, someone might help you in your hour of need.
A.So give it a try.
B.Be brave to face challenges.
C.Often, the acts aren’t paid back.
D.She was happy about it all day.
E.She was in low spirits the whole day.
F.This tradition is now more common worldwide.
G.It’s often unexpected, but almost never unappreciated.

People Are People
Globalization has brought different cultures together in away unimaginable one hundred years ago. Today, Chinese, Indians, Arabs, Africans, Anglos, and Hispanics may all work in the same offices, attend the same schools or live in the same neighborhoods. ①__________And our society has lately emphasized(强调)the importance of diversity.
②__________Take the following old proverbs for example.
“Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom.” Thomas Jefferson, American President
“One falsehood spoils a thousand truths.” African proverb
“Be honest to those who are honest, and be also to those who are not honest.” Lao Tzu, Chinese philosopher
“A sacrifice is written off by a lie and the merit of devotion by an act of cheat.” Hindu saying
③__________These seems to be a sort of cultural unity.
We don’t wish to imply all cultures are the same. Cultural diversity is real, and people from different cultures view many situations in different ways. However, historically, different cultures seem to share many common values. They are justice, courage, patience, generosity, equality, mercy and kindness, respect for the elders, and many more. Lying and stealing appear to be wrong no matter where you go. Perhaps
some cultures make room for extenuating(情有可原)circumstances more than others; perhaps cultures apply these virtues in different ways; and when values disagree, different cultures may place different levels of importance on them. ④__________But both cultures may still value both.
To us, it seems as if there is some sort of code of right and wrong that everyone everywhere seems to understand, regardless of culture. It is almost as if, behind all of the diversity, one finds a common understanding – a human culture, if you will – that goes beyond racial, social, and political boundaries. ⑤ __________.
A. All people seem to agree that we should tell the truth.
B. As cultures meet with each other, many differences stand out.
C. Each value supports many more sayings from different cultures.
D. We want to show, however, that there is more to these cultures than diversity.
E. These sayings from four separate cultures all support the same value – honesty.
F. It is almost as if, despite all our differences, we are all still the same – we are just people.
G. In other words, one culture may lean more toward justice and another culture more toward mercy.

HOW COULD CHINA FIGHT BACK?
US President Donald Trump said Thursday he had asked the US Trade Representative to consider collecting 100 billion US dollars worth of additional tariffs (关税) on China imports. The headline Chinese publication Global Times says ‘nothing good’ would come out of a trade war with President Trump, and has warned that China could fight back.
So what could China do? Well here are a few options:
1)①__________
China says the US tariffs are bad for global trade and has already said that it will work with other WTO members to defend itself.
2)②__________

5)④__________
