The “G” stands for the “generation(代)” of your mobile network. But these symbols will become things of the past after 5G networks fully arrive.‎ 8‎ On March 30, Shanghai vice-mayor(副市长) Wu Qing made the first 5G video call on a Huawei Mate X smartphone, CGTN reported. Shanghai has also become the first city in China to start testing 5G networks.‎ ‎ About 100 times faster than 4G networks, 5G will let people download and upload data faster than ever before. But 5G won't just bring faster mobile Internet. People can use it for many other things as well.‎ ‎ For example, 5G will help to make self-driving cars safer. Today's self-driving test cars have one problem—lag. When the car “sees” an obstacle(障碍物), it sends this information to a data center and receives instructions.‎ ‎ However, it takes time to send and receive this information. With this kind of lag, the cars might crash because they don't receive instructions in time. With 5G, this lag will be greatly lowered, making the cars safer, according to CNN. 5G could also be used to power the Internet of Thing(IoT, 物联网). This refers to a large online network that connects all things and people. Fast Internet speeds will be the key to developing this technology.‎ ‎ The IoT could be used in a lot of ways. For example, with IoT, your refrigerator could automatically(自动地) place an order online for eggs when it finds that there are no eggs left inside.‎ ‎ Who is building the network? China is racing to build a nationwide 5G network. China's biggest telecom(电信) companies—China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom—are working on test runs of 5G systems in 17 cities across the country. China is set to become the world's largest 5G market, with 460 million users by 2025. China Daily reported.‎ ‎21.In which city was 5G tested for the first time? ( )‎ A.Beijing. B.Shanghai.‎ C.Shenzhen. D.Guangzhou.‎ ‎22.The underlined word “lag” means .( ) ‎ ‎ A.问题 B.困难 ‎ C.延迟 D.弊端 ‎23.The writer uses self-driving cars as an example to . ( ) ‎ A.explain how self-driving cars work B.show us how advanced self-driving cars are C.warn about the possible dangers of self-driving cars D.explain how 5G's fast speed can be helpful 8‎ ‎24.According to the story, the IoT is .( ) ‎ A.a robot that can do housework B.an online store where you can buy anything C.a large online network that connects things and people D.a type of high-tech refrigerator Ⅳ. ‎ As is well known, saying “no” is not easy at all. But sometimes we have to learn to say “no”. To learn to say “no”, we have to first understand what's stopping us about it. There are some common reasons why people find it hard to say “no”.‎ You want to help others. You are a kind soul at heart. You don't want to turn the person away and you want to help when possible, even if it may take up your time.‎ Afraid of being rude. I was brought up under the idea that saying “no”, especially to people who are older, is rude. This thinking is common in Asian culture, where face-saving is important. It means not making others look bad or lose faces.‎ Wanting to be agreeable. At times, you find you are not in agreement. You don't want to keep yourself away from the group, so you agree to do others' requests.‎ Fear of conflict(冲突). The person might be angry when you refuse him. This might lead to an ugly conflict. Even if there isn't, there might be disagreement which might lead to bad effects in the future. ‎ Fear of losing opportunities. Sometimes, saying “no” means closing doors or losing opportunities. It may make you feel worried. For example, one of my friends was asked to work in another department in her company. Since she liked her team, she didn't want to go. However, she didn't want to say “no” as she felt it would affect her promotion(晋升) opportunities in the future. ‎ ‎25.In Asian culture, it is to say “no” to people who are older. ‎ ‎26.At times, saying “no” means you don't want to be .  ‎ ‎27.Why do you agree to do others' requests?‎ ‎  ‎ ‎28.  ‎ 8‎ ‎29. 故选A。 up to达到;as for至于;ahead of提前,领先;along with与…… fall down摔倒;push down往下推;put down放下,写下;sit down坐下。 故选A。 故选A。 as当……时;before在……之前;after在…… 故选A。 to对于;past经过;with用……;against反对。 故选A。 less than少于;because of因为;more than多于;instead of代替。 故选A。 根据上文“I said ‘hello’.
